臨床試験の仮想化が、被験者の優先化を加速

Patient Centricity has been a buzzword in the clinical trials industry for years. It was estimated that it would take at least a decade to adopt this new, essential technology. When Covid-19 found everyone at home, the push to bring clinical trials directly to the patients’ homes accelerated this inclusion revolution.

Inclusion means bridging physical distance by bringing the clinical trial to the patient, rather than the patient to the clinic. This allows for a much broader outreach to patients in areas that aren’t close to the clinic. This also allows outreach to people who don’t have access to transportation to the clinic, which can include a significant majority of potential patients.

Socioeconomic distance is also bridged. By allowing hourly wage workers, who can’t afford to take time off, to access the trials in their own homes and on their own schedules. They can now receive life-saving and life changing medications mailed directly to their homes. They can also participate in studies they formerly didn’t have feasible access to.
